Arrow In 1960 the Arrow became the first production one-design iceboat. It was designed and built by the Boston Sail Co. of Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Larger and heavier than a DN, this boat has cockpit room for two, and is a little challenged in light airs, but in a blow, they can really scoot. Pairs of people have been seen catapulted across the bay at great speeds, their giggles barley audible above the roar of the runners. Currently we have two members seen regularly with their Arrows: Tim Crites, and Dave Disbennet. Another member, Keith Guilford has a "Turbo" version fitted with a spring-board plank on the front. This one has not been seen in a few years though. |
