Skimmer 45
The Skimmer fleet is expanding! We expect to have 4 or more boats regularly sailing the area. These little speedsters are great in heavy winds when the DN's are just too darn fast and unsafe. Skimmers have runners that are a bit too small and easily get out of alignment (the new ones have been reinforced to correct the alignment problem) Weight distribution makes steering runner response scary at speed. Yet with all of its performance shortcomings this little machine is fun and at least feels really safe. Lightweight and easy to rig. Excellent beginner boat. Skimmers currently sell for $1525 new.
